Claude browser automation with Vassal Agent

Vassal Agent lets Claude use a real browser on your Mac: its built-in assistant runs on your own Claude plan, and Claude Desktop and Claude Code can connect to the same browser over MCP with one button. Claude reads pages, clicks, types and fills forms in your signed-in sessions, and the app asks you before anything is sent, posted, paid or deleted.

What can Claude do in the browser?

Anything you would do by hand on a web page, described in plain words: search a site, open results, read each one, copy what matters into a table, fill in a form, draft a message. Claude plans the steps; Vassal Agent gives it the browser to do them in, with a live panel so you can watch every page it opens.

Try: "Search the state licensing board for plumbing contractors in Tampa licensed in the last year and give me a table with the name, licence number and a link."

How do you connect Claude?

1. Install Vassal Agent. Download it for Mac and drag it into Applications.
2. Press Connect Claude. The app sets Claude up in the background and opens Claude's sign-in page. Sign in with your Claude account and come back.
3. Type a job in the assistant panel. Claude works in the app's browser, in the sites you have signed in to.
4. Optional: connect Claude Desktop or Claude Code. Open Connect and press Connect next to either. They can then drive the same browser from their own chat.

What does the app add around Claude?

• A real browser with your logins. A Chromium browser on your Mac, separate from your personal one. See how logins work.
• A stop Claude cannot skip. Before a send, post, submit, payment or delete, the app itself asks you. The check runs outside the model, so a page with hidden instructions cannot talk its way past it.
• Rules and a log. Plain-language rules per site, team rules an owner can lock, and an audit log of every action.
• Workflows and schedules. Do a job once while it watches and it becomes a workflow Claude can rerun on a schedule or when a page or inbox changes, with results in an Inbox and exports to spreadsheets and Google Sheets.
• Reading many pages at once. It can read up to 25 pages in one step, which keeps long research jobs fast.

Is it better than Claude in Chrome?
